Well Daytona went good. The day we headed down to Florida, my dad picked up the new Suzuki rmz 450, provided by Mr. Lee Blackmon, (southeasterncustomhomes.com), while I was in school. Anyway, on Friday we went to Savannah, GA to watch the race there and to spend the night with some friends. We got to the track later on Saturday, in the rain. If it got rained out, the rain date was on Monday, and since we were only there for the weekend, that wasn’t an option. So just waiting until the next day to unload was the best choice. It was clear and sunny on Sunday, so everything was good. The track was a little rough, but it didn’t slow me down. I was in the 450-mod class, but the only modification on the bike is an air filter. I got third in my heat, one away from making the main. Luckily, I won my semi. The main event was short and sweet, with 8th place ending just after the half way point due to hay bales being snagged onto the track. Thanks again to Lee Blackmon, Robbie Treinen for gearing help, George Richter and Charlie Sabatka for help with the set-up, Lloyd Widner, Paul Steverson, Thunder Tower Harley-Davidson, Travis Smith, ACSsignshop.com and a special thanks to my new sponsor, Tom McGrath Law firm.

Hey Ya’ll its Blake.
Well…2009 is in the books now and what a season it has been. My first thanks go out to God for giving me the talent and ability to do what I do. Without His creation none of it would be possible. Next on the thank you list is all of the people that have seen in me my ability and the confidence in me to ride their machines. Thank you Mr. Paul for working so hard to keep the 600 under me. Thank you Mr. Lloyd Widener for allowing me the opportunity to ride the 250 this year. Thank you Mr. Rex for letting me ride the 500 framer while you have been healing this year. Those vintage open races were some of the most fun I had all season.
This season really has been fun. There are some really great tracks here in the southeast. South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia should be proud of what they have to offer the flattrack racer. There have also been some unique opportunities that came my way. Early in the year I got to spend the day with Kenny Coolbeth and Jake Johnson while they were tuning and testing the new stock framed bikes. I also got the chance to race an indoor race put on by Big Ed Beckley at a monster truck show. Racing in front of several thousand people was pretty cool.
One of the most important things about this season is that my riding ability matured a greatly. Riding with really fast riders and actually competing with and beating some people I have watched ride for years gave me confidence. I think that consistency all year helped me get some of the finishes needed to keep the confidence I had going.
My finishes include 2nd in Pro-Am DTX, 4th in Open-Pro@ Mid-Carolina Speedway. The SEMDTRA Series finishes include 7th in Vintage Open, 5th in Pro-Am and 2nd in Mad Dog.
Again thanks so much for the help and support from so many people on,
off, and around the track. Another big thanks to Thunder Tower Harley Davidson, Columbia, S.C. and Wayne Hosaka (www.flattrack.com) for helping to arrange a sponsorship deal. Thanks to Jennifer at shelovesracing for website work and getting info out for those that help make it possible. Sponsors are a really big deal and make it possible and without them…..well, you know! I wish the best to all those I compete with and that next year may be even better for the sport and individual racers.
See ya’ at the track

Hey ya'll, It's Blake. Well I have been riding a good bit. Mostly on the cr250r owned by Mr. Lloyd Widener. I have also been given the opportunity to ride a little vintage also. Mr. Rex Trent that I have ridden for before is healing from a really bad knee injury and he wanted me to ride his CCM framed Honda 500. We raced at Coleridge Speedway in Asheboro NC on September the 19th. (My dad's birthday) It is a super well groomed 1\5th mile track. Really Fast! In vintage open I got to ride with one of the guys I have looked up to for a long time, #19 Tommy Sisson from Tennessee. It was a great race and ended up finishing second to Tommy. I ended up fifth on the 250 in the Pro Am main. Next on to Orangeburg for the last round of the Southeast Dirt Track Series. Mr Rex put me on the #59 CCM 500 Honda again in the vintage open. It was a big class with two heats. I got second in my heat which gave me a front row start in the main lined up with Tommy Sisson and #33 Frank McLane. Frank McLane got the hole shot and I took off in second with Tommy Sisson in 3rd. I battled with 33 for a few laps when I started getting some heat from Tommy. We traded places a few times and on the last lap I rode it in deep to the outside of Tommy and passed him going into four and crossed the line in second. It was a great race! I finished fourth on Mr. Lloyds 250 on the pro am main. We finished the Nesses season the weekend of April the 10th. I got 3rd in pro-am on the 250. (Garth Brow won) I rode Lee Blackmon's Rotax in open pro and got 3rd (Garth Brow won) The weekend of April the 17th is coming up and we are headed to Summerville SC for Garth Brow's wedding. My Mom & Dad are doing the flowers for the wedding.
Talk to ya'll later. Blake

Dear wonderful and supportive sponsors
It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me. Our season has been going pretty well. At the start I was riding a 600 Honda for a local track owner, Paul Steverson. The motor blew on that bike just in time for Mr. Rex Trent to provide a 250 4-stroke. That was going very well but Mr. Rex had a terrible injury while racing which forced him to have to sell the bike. Just as one door closes another opens. Lloyd Widener, one of the original and instrumental men that formed Mid-Carolina Speedway offered me a ride on his 2-stroke Honda 250. I just raced it for the first time and got 4th out of 11 riders in the Open Pro/Am class at Palmetto Motorsports Complex this past weekend. The 600 Honda will be ready soon and the 250 will be available for the rest of the season.
There have been some other pretty cool highlights also. Before the pro season started in February, I got to spend the day with Kenny Coolbeth while he was testing his new Honda 450 at Mid-Carolina Speedway. Kenny is the current and three time number one AMA Flattrack champion.
Another cool thing was getting to race an indoor race at Florence. It was during a monster truck show and to have thousands of fans on hand to cheer you on was pretty neat.
As always there have been a number of people that have recognized my abilities and my desire to do well in this sport that I love so much. As each season passes it seems that someone in some way is looking out for me in a way I never expected. The flattrack family is a very supportive group and I am proud to be associated with people that encourage and support me.
Thanks so much for what you have done for me in the past and it is my goal to do a better job keeping in touch with those that have been faithful by supporting me. Your financial support made it possible for my website (blakelomas.com) to be a reality again this year. Thanks!
All the best to those that have been so supportive in sponsoring me
Thunder Tower Harley Davidson Here in Columbia helped me by giving me the opportunity to sell raffle tickets for a Harley Rocker. The deal is I get to keep fifty percent of the ticket sales. I would really like to thanks Lisa Harris at Thunder Tower for giving me the chance and the help.
Sincerely,
Blake Lomas #7B
